Hair brushing is an ancient practice that has transcended ages and cultures. This practice consists of brushing hair with an appropriate brush or comb to detangle it and make it more beautiful. However, hair brushing is not limited to hair aesthetics; it is also essential for scalp care.

The often-neglected scalp

 .

The scalp is often neglected, yet it is the foundation of healthy hair. Indeed, the scalp is where hair follicles are implanted and where hair takes root. A healthy scalp promotes hair growth and provides the nutrients it needs. Brushing stimulates blood circulation in the scalp, which encourages hair growth and delivers necessary nutrients.

The origins of brushing

.

Hair brushing is an ancient practice dating back to Antiquity. Egyptians used ivory combs and wooden brushes to detangle and style their hair. Greeks and Romans also used combs and brushes to care for their hair. Over the centuries, hair brushing became a common practice in many cultures worldwide.

 The benefits of brushing

Hair brushing has numerous benefits for hair and scalp health. Here are some advantages:

  • Detangle hair: Brushing gently detangles hair without damaging it. This prevents hair breakage and keeps it healthy for longer.

  • Stimulate blood circulation: Brushing stimulates blood circulation in the scalp, promoting hair growth by providing necessary nutrients.

  • Remove impurities: Brushing helps remove impurities and hair product residues that can accumulate on the scalp and suffocate hair follicles.

It is crucial to choose a brush suited to your scalp type to avoid irritating or damaging it. An unsuitable brush can cause irritation, itching, dandruff, hair breakage, and frizz.
