Benzene: a proven carcinogen

 

Benzene is a highly volatile solvent with an aromatic nucleus obtained by petroleum distillation.

According to the WHO (World Health Organization) and the IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer), benzene is classified in group 1, meaning it is a proven human carcinogen.

 

It is a trigger ingredient for leukemia: between 5 and 18% of leukemias are due to occupational exposure to benzene.

 

An unacceptable contamination percentage

 

Some samples contained up to approximately 170 times the conditional restriction limit for drugs.
